I look forward to the day a banner is displayed at the top of every X Feed...

"X is supported Ad free through the proceeds and ongoing revenue from the Media Matters defamation endowment."

given that it should take about 20-30 employees to run twitter, I agree with him. Give the end user the ability to block content they don't want and use some decent filtering to hunt down terrorist and racist tweets and then just let it fly. Should not cost so damn much to run. Next thing I do to make it the top social platform is I reopen the API so people can build cool apps off of its data.

They have gotten rid of most of the useless females, so its running pretty lean at the moment.

Twitter (or "x", whatever) seems to be doing ok. Disney, meanwhile, faces more layoffs.

What commpany did the data? How did they measure visits, and visitors and does it include app usage? Usage data varies significantly on app vs web

But isn't that where much of the company's value is? Why let people have your data for free instead of monetizing it?

They can recoup their costs by charging api costs but it creates value. You could also force the developers to use your ad platform in their apps and split the revenue with them.

Salesforce took off because they opened up the dev platform.
