Was thinking same while watching Eagles' game. I don't watch a lot of tv, but when I do, I could win quite a few bets that there will be a bi-racial couple in the commercials. Is this lawsuit driven? I don't know, but I don't think it speaks to the vast majority of most Americans who won't see this in their daily "real" lives. The depiction is imaginary.

It's more than that, it's black women. I commonly see three, four, five commercials in a row where the featured person is a black female. It is so far out of whack it's comical.

Diversity is overrated

Pointed this out to my wife a while back and she didn't believe me, until she started paying attention and realized it was true. We started looking to see if any commercials included a white heterosexual couple. They were few and far between.

Also had to point out to her the predominant casting of male characters as the dopey, comedic relief, while the women tend to be the strong, smart, leader roles. It is extremely prevalent in modern sitcoms, and most kids/teen programming.

So 90% plus commercials are POC as actors or voice over, or POC biracial .
So If 12 % of population is taking the jobs in 90% of the jcommericals and 60% of the pop is getting 5 % of the jobs in commercials, and really 2 % if you exclude the roles of scumbag/burglar. This a WHOLE LOT OF DISCRIMATION BASEd ON RACE. So, nobody is triggered. Like most people, we aren't cool with discrimination, especially when it is being broadcast openly and daily into our living rooms.
