Didn't something similar happen last year at their homecoming? My parents live out there pretty close to where they have thrown these pasture parties the past two years. It's been a giant cluster the past two years.

It happens every year there during the weeks around homecoming.

A friend of mine was a paramedic there for a while.
Fire, EMS, and Law all have extra people on their shifts during the week and weekend because they expect issues.

Why is homecoming such a violent event?

Was the Academy discount code good for guns and ammo?

Brings out the peripheral thugs and BoB violence.

Wow, another item to add to the cultural issues plauged by a certain demographic in this nation. But somehow I'm sure this is one of the many strengths of our diverse nation.

We were stopping at that Bucees last night to charge our car. When we got there is was complete chaos. Women dancing on the hoods of cars, super loud music, people trying to steal stuff. We walked in and immediately walked back out to our car. We were unaware of what had happened, but it did not feel safe there at all.

Last year they ransacked that Buccees after the party. Total chaos. My mom said their neighbors tried to warn the judge to not issue the permit this year to allow them out there, but the judge issued the permit anyways.

Me and the kids thought we were in a scene from Madmax leaving there one night after an A&M game. Pulled out of the station then about 30 seconds later we were enveloped by cars passing on the right, left, shoulder...everywhere.

Made sure the kids were buckled up and that I knew exactly where my firearm was and its orientation to my hand.

Btw, we are conservative. We like the Tesla and the drive it provides for my husbands commute. And, no, it had nothing to do with the color of their skin. It had to do with the amount of people, the chaos, the stealing and the blatant disregard for others. I am 50 years old and have experienced a lot in my life and other than roaming the streets of Naples, Italy, I've never felt like that.

WTF is going on in Naples, Italy?

We have black trail rides in Smith county. They are guys that enjoy horses etc. However, the destination is big pasture with lots of partying and the las two or three have ended in shootings. I think they make them hire security etc now.
Y'all know how many shootings occurred once Saltgrass got to Houston from Brenham?

For decades, if not longer, Naples has been the most violent city in Italy.

i have lived in new orleans for a decent amount of my adult life and also st louis. i am not a moron in real life - only on the internet.

That year it was massive garbage strikes. Garbage was piled in the streets and burning. Businesses were shut down and and we were advised not to go there due to the uptick in crime and looting, but we had to get from the train station to the ferry and had no choice.

Has there been any update on injuries etc? I'm going back & forth between a few projects and haven't stopped to check.

I was talking with a local from Galveston this weekend. The new thing is "SLAB", slow, low and banging (I think). Same people, just a new name.

She advised me to figure out when it is and to not to be on the island that weekend.

None of them were even involved. It was a "verbal disagreement" between two groups and one or more pulled a gun and decided to start blasting away. As usual, simply sprayed bullets and completely missed the intended target.

Surfside is a sht show on Memorial Day, July 4th and usually Labor Day as well because the hoodrats that used to go to Galveston now come to Surfside since it's free to get on Follet's beach and you can drink - neither of which you can do in Galveston anymore.

I remember way back in the day when it first started, I was 16 working at Beach, Bait and Tackle. They stayed open the first year, hired off duty security the 2nd year and by the 3rd year they closed down and boarded up for those weekends because the little didntdonuffins wouldn't even try to hide stealing things - they were openly walking out the door with whatever they could grab and gave zero F's about it.

There are several events still going on down there .. I get the text every year from friends in the Clear Lake area to avoid Galveston this weekend or that weekend .. not sure what they are calling it these days

There's something just about every other weekend during the summer. Doesn't matter what it is, smart people avoid going. Even the jeep go topless weekend turns into a cluster and tons of arrests are made, fights all over the place, etc.

It isn't necessarily a function of the color of skin, but generally speaking it is a function of people being people, and especially at the younger ages. But there are higher risks at times because some groups tend to be more prone to violence and shooting than others, even if we can't speak the obvious or point to hard facts.
