The United States has begun moving USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group to the Eastern Mediterranean. This includes the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), as well as the Arleigh-Burke-class guided missile destroyers USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116), USS Ramage (DDG 61), USS Carney (DDG 64), and USS Roosevelt (DDG 80). We have also taken steps to augment U.S. Air Force F-15, F-16, and A-10 fighter aircraft squadrons in the region. The U.S. maintains ready forces globally to further reinforce this posture if required.

Wow. You could start and finish a war with all of that. Don't the Arleigh-Burke class vessels carry US Marine detachments or is that another class of vessel?
No the Arleigh-Burke's do not carry Marine Detachments,. They are guided-missile destroyers. Flight IIAs and Flight IIIs have helicopters. Flight 1 and II do not. They have a complement of around 320ish officers and men. They carry another 30 to 40 to support their flight operations. If they removed their helicopters, they could add a small detachment of Marines, but they use their helicopters for ASW and some interdiction. So it would be unlikely that they would remove their helos and replace with Marines.
