I read a study a couple of months ago about this subject. The study found that the average cost of the Transition Surgeries was over $132K/patient and that the average cost of the maintenance drugs/hormones that are required per patient as $2K/year. The paper estimated that the Transition Business lined up so far was approx $101B over the next few years with another +$2B per year in maintenance drugs/hormones. The suggestion that reproduction would be taken over by the Tech Companies was a new one to me, but I guess that is also a possibility.
The study also found that 75% of the kids that were seriously considering transitioning also tested on the Autism Scale and that over 50% of the kids mothers had some sort of personality disorder. The study also found some evidence that trans kids families often had a history of drug and alcohol problems. So, the people that are selling transitioning are praying on very vulnerable kids with numerous problems.
