Why do environmentalists always use the term "the planet" and never "the earth" or "the world"?

And the Soviets used the "this belongs to the people" slogan when it came to private ownership all the while the "leadership" lived like Kings while "the people" lived in slums and worked for peanuts, not owning anything.

Last night a news reporter announced that a shortage of blood (Red Cross) was "climate driven"
The left is weaponizing words such as "climate driven" "planet" etc.

The amount of evil perpetrated under, "the greater good," throughout history should scare anyone who hears those words, but sadly, we have a dumb, robotic population that will submit to anything so long as they have their cutesy little comforts.

The use of "planet" seems very intentional and thus must be for a reason.
We too often let liberals control our language.

It's like the term "homeless" - it misdiagnoses most of these people who their primary problem is drug and mental issues. Why do they do this? So democrats can launder taxpayers money solving the wrong problem.

I wonder if the world "earth" is too personal and relatable?
If they said "we're going to save the earth" it hits closer to home and sounds like a messiah complex (which it is)
The response might be "oh you think you're the savior of the world? Good luck with that!"

But if they say "we're going to save the planet"...
It's a bit more obtuse and sounds more scientific.
And you know science is settled and must not be debated.
