1. Biden proposed it
2. Admin was sued
3. Courts ruled unconstitutional
4. Biden did it again
5. Crickets....

Did nobody sue him the second time? Seems like that would have been a huge media celebration.

He said he was going to do it again, but I don't think he actually tried it. I haven't heard anything either way after his second try.

Would never go through. Student loans are the only loans you can't go bankrupt on for a reason lol. This was the plan all along. Force kids into uni because "that's what you need to succeed in life and get a good job" (despite 80% of kids not being smart enough to actually get a degree worth a damn) and then keep them voting a certain way with promises to forgive the debt they'll never be able to pay off.

it's a bribe to get young people to vote

(not that they really need it with mass-mailed ez fraud jokes of elections and counting until predetermined outcomes are achieved)

even they eventually pass their "path to amnesty" for the over 40 million people here illegally, they still need to make attempts to get socialism enthusiasm from the masses.

Just keep making the minimum payments. They will be forgiven, only a matter of time.

Again, the court ruled against broad student loan forgiveness. Targeted loan forgiveness is still and has always been allowed.

And loaners have been interviewed in which they are disgusted that their loans were not forgiven and have vowed not to pay them.

A woman who was interviewed by NBC news, received an Associates, Bachelors, two MS, and PH.D,, all through student loans, owes more that $250,000, is a Los Angeles school principle making over $100,000, stated that she could not afford to pay back the loans and has stated she will not pay.

Why do you want the government to be involved in every decision you make, and expect them to save you when you got yourself too far out over your skies?

I remember the day I woke up. It was when my wife passed away and we had a 13 month old. I was a traveling technician and had to quit to stay home with my son. Went to figure out benefits and the government lady literally laughed at me that I owned my truck, had a "trailer house" and being I was male, white and had a job in the last year I was **** out of luck. Learned all about your bs Obamacare too while trying to build a landscaping business. It was not cheap like you described, only got cheaper when Trump showed up. Which also started the take off of the landscaping business. More people had more money for services, it was like night and day. Your opinion isn't the reality of a huge chunk of Americans, and your opinion of wait out an agreement you signed is a shameful way to lead our country. Sets a terrible example.

What a remarkably ill informed assumption!

I was advising them to make the minimum payments. Why pay more than that when the societal odds are stacked against the Supreme Court decision? It is only a matter of time.

Regardless of what you and I believe, generation z and younger millenials will ensure these are forgiven. That is my prediction.

I'm against all student loan forgiveness, even PLSF programs, but you'd be a fool to make large payments on sutdent loans at this point. The writing is on the wall.

The people in those age groups that didn't get loans and have worked during those years, or paid their way through school or have paid off already will be greater the older they get imo. As a country, it shouldn't be encouraged. It will create some serious bitterness in the masses I believe.

That may be true but it's a foregone conclusion.

My girlfriend has close to $250,000 in student loans. She is paying $40.00 a month as required minimum payment heh.

It is irrational and, candidly, pretty silly to assume young people are going to pay these loans back en masse. Its a failed system and I am not sure what the answer is.

That is actually a great idea as long as they get a choice of which to do.

That can open doors for an indentured servitude type situation.

I don't think you or your girlfriend understand how most people really see that. Including a chuck in the age group you're speaking of. You and she are asking for a bailout the size of a house under the belief that there are enough of you to vote it in. All Americans will have to pay for that, and I think you're underestimating the blowback that would come.

She is much younger than me. When I was in school, I could afford most things I needed by working in bars and restaurants. Student loans were only supplemental. That is no longer the case.

If we agree to get married, I will just pay it off and give her the option to work or not. I would prefer she have the option to choose to stay home or work.

We aren't playing the system. The system is organically following the only path available to it.

Kill it brother. The system is following the corrupt few that run it and at 250k, they'll will keep stringing your girlfriend along 10k at a time, kind of like another program that started a few decades ago. Good for you if you pay it off for her, but I'd keep a good eye on your credit card. Would love to see an itemized spreadsheet of where that 250k went.

So, the forgiveness happened? I guess the backlash was so great, they are keeping a lid on it until after the election process. I think the left wants the union vote back, and these are the peope that are getting screwed the most out of this deal. Minorities also were not happy paying off loans for people making hundreds of thousands of dollars and they are living well below that.

Wouldn't be a problem if student loans only covered tuition, supplies, and maybe room/board. Too many people sign off on the max they can get and party it up for 4-5 years and just use it as discretionary income.
