Medical Doctor, Rear Admiral, on paper this guy is solid.
Quote:

Bodycam video shows confrontation between U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson and law enforcement

The footage shows Jackson being tackled to the ground and placed in handcuffs, with the Amarillo Republican directing a profanity-laced tirade toward a trooper. His office has said Jackson, a physician, was trying to help with a medical emergency.

The DPS trooper, identified in a sheriff's report as "Trooper Young," repeatedly told Jackson that multiple people asked him to step aside so EMS could respond to a medical emergency. Jackson, a physician to two presidents, disagreed and continued to confront Young on the sidelines of the event, with bystanders physically restraining Jackson as he lunged toward the trooper, jabbing his finger and yelling profanities.
This all seems really strange behavior for someone of his rank and politics.
We expect this from SheJac, Commandante Hidalgo, etc.

Pentagon Probe Slams Former White House Doctor, Current Texas Congressman Ronny Jackson's Behavior
After interviewing 78 witnesses and reviewing a host of White House documents, investigators concluded that Jackson, who achieved the rank of rear admiral, failed to treat his subordinates with dignity and respect. They also highlighted incidents of inappropriate behavior on at least two international presidential trips.
This guy is going to get himself in trouble one day.

Is this guy really in a bad place?

He's still better than anything the Democrats can offer up.

Still better than any Dem, though he was a carpetbagger who should never have been elected from our district. I'm guessing his time as White House physician and Trump connection helped him beat the local candidate

There are very few names in The Panhandle that this tactic works for.

What I read about this incident was he was helping a girl having seizures and when the medical professionals arrived things went sideways. Probably was telling Jackson to step away and he didn't, then the cops got involved. The parents of the girl were appalled by the actions of the cops.

2 sides to every story.

You maybe on the money with that analysis.

Do you know who I am DOES actually matter if he is a licensed medical doctor and the most qualified person on the scene to administer medical evaluation and treatment to include any of the ENT present.

Seems like a doctor trumps EMS or a paramedic. But maybe that's too much common sense?

Less than a half-minute later, the video shows two officers taking Jackson to the ground and handcuffing him, holding him to the ground with his face down. It is not until 50 seconds later that Jackson is shown standing again.

Lighten up, Francis. It was pure conjecture on my part, and would be quite typical for the situation.

He's a MD, that qualifies as a medical professional.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Except he is a medical professional himself. Maybe the EMTs didn't know he was a doctor? That would explain a lot.

The only way they are more qualified is if the typo from Mouth's post above isn't a typo, and she was actually suffering from an Ear, Nose, or throat issue.

If the poster above meant EMT, then Jackson would absolutely be more qualified.

Just remember, that officer Thao in the Floyd case was convicted for doing his job, including holding back the crowd. One of the people in the crowd claimed to be a EMT and wanted to help but officer Thao would not let her.

Thao not allowing the "claimed" EMT to help Floyd was one of the factors/evidence cited in his conviction.

How dare the personal doctor of multiple presidents step over the venerated thin blue line to help a little girl with a medical issue...the gall. To some degree, I jest.

In reality though, it seems like a bit of humility and refocus on the most important thing (helping the girl) would have helped all around. Hero Syndrome can take hold and cloud the actual objective all too quickly.

So? You introduce yourself, offer help if needed, then get the #@&* out of their way until called on. I have little doubt that EMS and the DPS knew of his qualifications after that encounter. Too many cooks spoil the broth, and arguing with a cop is of zero help.

As a parent, I would rather have an ER doc work with EMS than a State Trooper making that call.

Once again, all it took was one or two law enforcement probing questions to avoid this whole scene.

The one strike against the doc is he should have reacted like a professional, not gone off on a tangent. His whole rant accomplishes zero on the scene. Handle it afterward.
