Watched a Netflix documentary on ZZ Top. Gibbons said said he ran just before recording that song in the morning so that he would be short of breath and his voice raspy.

He received an Oscar nomination for that role.

The story goes Marvin was in the audience and when he saw Dom put that sock in his pants....Marvin left in disgust because he never did that.

Musings: Marvin Zindler would come to Kays lounge on Bissonett occasionally with Dave Ward, who was there every night. If I remember correctly Zindler was short and no one liked him. Hondo Crouch would come in too.
Of course Rice band made fun of Ags and chicken ranch at one of the half times. (I didn't particularly like the MOB).
Billy Gibbons mom was football secretary at Rice- real nice lady.
There was an older one story hotel on feeder road on I-10 in Katy that was a house of ill repute during same time period- it flew under the radar.

Well, prostitution and other types of crime go together: drugs, which trigger burglary, robbery and theft to feed users' appetites and of course the eventual murders. Prostitution does not exist in a social vacuum.

There's an advertising sign in Richmond, TX on FM 359 that used the movie title to market their hair salon. It's call The Best Little "Hair" House in Texas. Thought that was a clever use of the movie title to promote their business. Wonder if there is more going on there besides haircuts and perms. I'm dating myself but that would be the kind of place that would use Dippity Do!!

We'll he's dead, so….

There were plenty of 'chicken ranches" in Houston that Marvin could have put the limelight on but the Banditos and Hell's Angels would have made Marvin " disappear" . Marvin was a old HPD cop.

I remember this. I lived in a small town and there was a photo of a wall where people carved their names. Several people from my hometown names were on it.

Its not proper to have such an establishment in certain areas. Like next to a church or a daycare.

The proper place for this type of business is in the capitol building in Austin with the wrest of the pros.

If this isn't the new walk out song, I refuse to attend another game.
