Each party does this. They point to "bad" poll numbers hoping to stir activity and get people to donate more money.

Keep in mind what polls have and have not done in the past couple decades. I wouldn't be surprised if this poll that shows "bad" numbers wasn't actually commissioned by dem operatives because they saw flagging levels of funding.
