Because no community is affected more by hurricanes, plant fires, and chemical releases in the greater Houston area than Katy.

Seeing untold thousands of cars stuck on the Houston freeways when Hurricane Rita was approaching made a lasting impression on me. We have a couple 4wd vehicles with that in mind. If we run into a traffic jam like that, I want to be able to cut across the grass and course correct and not spend 24 hours or more pinned down as the threat overtakes us. It helps to already be on the outskirts of the metro area to begin with.
