especially when the criminal is the ONLY one dead in the story.
SIAP, but I just learned of it. This happened a couple of days ago.

Nice shooting, mom.

Taking out the trash that the Democrat judges and DAs won't keep in jail.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Stolen vehicle owner tracks truck using Airtag before shooting, killing suspect on Southeast Side, police say

Police say suspect may have had weapon, but it's still unclear

SAN ANTONIO A man in his 30s who stole a vehicle from a North Side home on Wednesday was shot and killed after the owners of the pickup truck tracked it down on the Southeast Side and took matters into their own hands, according to San Antonio police.

SAPD said they received a stolen vehicle report around 1 p.m. from a home on Braesview.

The owners were able to track the vehicle by using an Apple Airtag that was in the truck when it was stolen. That led them to a shopping center in the 3200 block of Southeast Military Drive.

SAPD said the owners contacted police to report the missing vehicle but decided to confront the suspect before police arrived.

One person got out of the car and attempted to contact the suspect on the side of the truck. It's unclear what happened next, but police say the suspect may have pulled out a firearm before the other man shot and killed him while in the stolen truck.

"I know that it's frustrating, but please do not take matters into your own hands," said Officer Nick Soliz, an SAPD public information officer.

Soliz said it's believed the only person who fired shots was the person who was looking for the truck and confronted the suspect.

It's unclear if the man who shot the stolen vehicle suspect will face charges. Police said they're still investigating whether the suspect actually had a weapon.
Hey Nick, let people take out the trash.

Hey Nick, let people take out the trash.
Last time I depended in the SAPD to deal with a car accident with injuries, they did absolutely zero. No blood alcohol test, police report with little to no info on it and what little was there was full of errors, no help at all. In fact, they hindered my attempts to get properly reconciled with the driver, the vehicle owner, and the owner's insurance company. So Nick can kindly take a back seat like his department is accustomed to.

Another example of how a law abiding citizen would probably have been killed instead of the scumbag, if legal carry was outlawed.

Unfortunately in today's world, it takes a jammed gun to justify shooting back.

Not a good idea to kill over this, or even commit violence, even if the criminal deserves far more punishment than they will get.

I do have to laugh about "waiting for police to get there." That never happens with thefts anymore.

It was a good idea to stop this jerk before he unjammed his gun and started shooting again.

Scumbag made a choice to take other people's rights and possessions. He knew there could be serious consequences and he found out there were. It was his own choice.

Exactly. I have no issue with criminals being moved to room temperature.

Was she supposed to wait for him to clear the jam? When exactly is it a good idea to kill the POS who is attempting to kill you and take your $40?

Fairly certain he was referring to the dude who tracked down the car thief, not the badass grandma.

Good to know that perps have more to fear than flying chanclas in San Antonio these days.
