Not clicking but let me guess. MM is racist because most of the players are black and make money for the evil white people. Of course they also get a free education and NIL deals and some will get a chance to play in the NBA or get networking opportunities most of us could never dream of by being an athlete.

It's also terrible that all that money ends up going to the schools where they can afford more scholarships and facilities for players and to fund other sports that aren't profitable. Would be so much better if none of that existed I guess out of fairness.

They are welcome to go learn a trade or work at a regular job if they want or pay for their own school. No one is forcing them to play a game and get a scholarship to do it.

Don't forget the connections and clout you gain from representing your university on a national level.

If any of these players don't feel they are getting enough payment to play, they can quit, and go play for the New Orleans Alligators verses the Houston Mudcats, and see how living out that dream works for them.

She misses the point. As most people looking for a race angle, usually do…

The issue is that people who own businesses are always looking for the cheapest way to produce the highest quality product they can…

And they will ALWAYS resist any change that radically forces higher costs on them…. And take preposterous, sometimes condescending positions…

That applies to the NCAA member institutions and the NBA owners…

They don't necessarily hate blacks (I'm sure some do)…

They just want to tilt things in their economic favor…
Doesn't matter if it's steel, gasoline, sports, etc…

The schollie has value, but in many cases, as with Spencer Haywood, his basketball earning power (and the lifetime of money a decently-managed portfolio could create) was FAR more valuable than a college schollie could create…

We ALL know that…. The race stuff was just a sideshow…

As all of you who've been watching MM can attest to, these guys look miserable. It's like none of the players want to be there at all.

This issue can be cured pretty easily by applying DEI to college basketball so that every team looks ethnically diverse … without nearly as many black players. I wonder what the Black community would say about that.

There is a great video of Bill Maher and Bryan Cranston where Cranston is explaining how we are racist and points to the abolition of Jim crow in 1964. Bill just fires back "but we live in 2023."
