Agree. He had no idea how deep the swamp ran and resorted to name calling and egotistical rants. The swamp took him. Hope he is not the R nominee but if he is, i hope he has a better plan.

Trump is done. Pro-lockdowns (anti-Freedom), worships the vax, and isn't half the leader, or conservative, Desantis is. Plus he's toxic, who the hell wants to work for such a disloyal man who will throw you under the bus and trash you and your family if it's ever politically convenient?

He's just making up trashy lies about Desantis and only his blind cult like followers are dumb or delusional enough to buy into them. We literally have people on here who think Desantis was "endorsed by Soros". It's sad.

I say this as someone who couldn't wait to vote for him in 2020 and would begrudgingly vote for him in 2024, only because I'd vote for a bucket of diarrhea over any democrat.

I agree that he did not execute on many of his stated goals, but there were attempts. He took some of the same approaches as Bush 43 in regards to hiring freezes in departments and pushing retirements as a way to shrink the size of government workforce. He was more effective at it than Bush. But Trump also had an enormous amount of bureaucratic push back and protest. Essentially the equivalent and work slow down and ignoring of orders.

Desantis addressed the topic of shrinking bureaucratic government and insubordination in an interview the other day. His ability to talk solutions was simply next level compared to Trump. It's one thing to have the rhetoric(and even then Trumps rhetoric leaves a lot to be desired). It's another thing to speak with great clarity and authority about these issues and explain exactly what the solutions are in a substantive way that is also understandable and relatable to the general public. It's hard to understand how AlwaysTrumpers can't see the difference and want the better communicator that has actually done the things he's talking about at an executive level in government.

2/3 of that is reflecting on what he did as president and how bad the current administration is. No real plan for draining the swamp but it sounds like he has a plan to have his own ballot harvesting operation.

I like Trump's policies a lot, both foreign and domestic, but it's all for naught if he can't drain the swamp. Biden removed everything he accomplished in short order and it will happen again.

DeSantis has a shot at 8yrs and is more electable, it's the best we can hope for at this point.

If anyone was destroyed by the Swamp it was Trump. He fell into trap after trap and surrounded himself with the wrong people. Trump is too lazy to take down the Swamp. That requires a highly disciplined approach surrounded by many loyal and highly intelligent people that can know how to do it carefully and piece by piece.

Trump thinks he can just give a speech and ramble and suddenly the Swamp will crater. He has far fewer allies than he did in '16 and far fewer people that will sign up to serve with him. At He also will be a lame duck day one. I will vote for him if he is the nominee but anyone who thinks that Trump is the guy that will drain the Swamp at this point really hasn't been paying attention.

Trump can easily win the nomination.

No way he wins the general.

Strong hardcore base, mushy at best generic republicans, zero democrats and precious few independents that could wither the criticism to vote Trump.

Trump cannot win. Voting for him in the primary is the same as voting for a democrat.

CMs may go third party if donald somehow keeps the GOP hostage although I don't think he can pull that off again.
