Just heard the reporter on Fox News describe this as the weapon that old Asian ****er used to kill other Asians in California yesterday.

I know what an AR/AK pistol is, but that's not what he used. So now I ask, WTF is "Semi-Automatic Assault Pistol"? Some liberal media made up word to make a regular semi-auto handgun sound more menacing?

Saw "assault pistol" mentioned and at first thought they meant an AR pistol. But honestly it could just mean anything

It was an M11 that was used, similar to an UZI. Not exactly a regular old pistol, at least in ergonomics.

As usual, the media is fear mongering and doing the bidding of the feds.

If it was an M-11, I'd venture to say that he probably scored that off the street - and paid WAY too much for it.

Then again, I'm surprised it was effective. Those and Tec-9's are huge pieces of **** when it comes to reliability.

On NBC national news, they did the story and the immediate story after was 'will this fuel more Asian hate crimes?'…. They did this without prefacing what actually happened, that story was already on the schedule regardless of the actual assailant

I think the local Sheriff described it in an early press conference as a high capacity semi automatic assault pistol.

So the scary name came from him and the media, who are firearm illiterate, will run with it.

This is a Mac-11. I'm honestly surprised he used this. You typically see these in gangsta selfies. I'd rather take a Hi-Point into battle than one of these.

It's like he went to the neighborhood heat dealer in Chinatown, who is nothing more than wannabe Yakuza, asking him for the scariest looking gun that'll stir up the media.
