Did the Covid-19 Vaccine ruin the normal flu shot?

My health care connected friends are seeing a rise in patients testing positive for influenza AFTER they took the normal flu vaccine. My friend got the COVID-19 vaccine in 2021, and he has always gotten the normal flu shot every fall and never got the flu. This is the first time in 10 years he has gotten the Flu. I'm hearing more healthy people come down with flu this winter.

Anyone else seeing this?

no.

maybe this years flu shot does not address the current active strain(s).

it happens.
So, why get a shot that is useless? Let me guess, pump me up with chems just in case?

I seen far more people this year with flu than previous years. Espcially those that get the flu shot. Know lots of people that dont get the flu shot and no flu for them.

Nope. And I've gotten flu more than once in the past after getting the flu shot. I once even got it twice in the same season after getting the shot. That was all pre Covid.

Are you insinuating that the flu shot causes flu? Because that's not a thing.

Currently getting over a ***** of a virus that wasn't any of the big ones. Doctor didn't know exactly what it was but said there's some nasty strains of everything going around. I hadn't seen my PCP in 3 years because I haven't had a reason or been sick enough to need to go, and of course he wasn't available so I saw another guy for the first time.

Went and got checked out and refreshingly he just glossed over asking if I had the jab or the flu shot. When I said no/never on both he just nodded and moved on. No unnecessary pressure or "wise advice" statements on the way out. He didn't give 2 ****s. I think he's my new PCP going forward.

The flu is back? Where do your health care geniuses think it went for the last 3 years and why it magically reappeared?

If covid is the flu now then be prepared for your yearly flu shot to be an mRNA flu shot
No, I don't care what CNN or MSNBC said this time

I would suspect that repeatedly stressing your immune system with CoVID antibody overdrive probably doesn't help it be prepared for other threats.

I've never had a flu shot and I've never had the flu. Also have never gotten a covid shot, never gotten covid.

because most people do not track the effectiveness of the current year's version, and the pharmacies are still going to push whatever they have in stock.

just wait until the COVID and flu are mixed. good times. you will never be able to get a non-mrna version of the flu shot again. whether it works for the current strains or not.
I am not concerned, I never get the flu shot.

Flu shots are effective somewhere around 40% on average based on historical data. I might be off some but it's basically a coin toss if it's going to work. They make the flu vaccines before knowing which strain is going to be the dominant one in any one season. Sometimes you hit; sometimes you don't.

I never got a flu shot until I was asked to as a Vendor to hospitals starting about 10 years ago.

After Covid I now decline both flu and Covid.

I've taken five flu shots in 48 years and got the flu three out five (60%) of those same shot years

Covid Vax is responsible for everything that has happened since Covid Vax has become available, so yes, if your friend got a flu shot this year and then got the flu, the Covid Vax is almost certainly to blame.

I hope I am wrong, but based on my observation of my vaxxed and boosted in laws (70-ish in age), they almost can't seem to stay healthy for more than a week at a time. Seems like they are almost always either sick, or very fatigued in recent months. They look and act like they have aged 5-6 years in the last year. I am wondering if the concerns that this could be harming peoples' natural immune systems could be warranted. Lord, I hope not.

I think the vaccine lowered everyone's immune system for the worse. We are fighting natural science (survival of the fittest) with lab science. Now we are suffering the consequences.

Kind of my experience, too. In the 90s, I was a hospital volunteer who worked directly with patients in neonatal and then oncology. So I had to get some booster vaccines such as polio, TB and flu shots. Flu shot alone made me sick and then got the flu a few weeks later each time.

Haven't had a flu shot since and have never had the flu.

Since you usually get the flu shot before the flu starts spreading in earnest, doesn't it make sense that whether you got the shot or not, you would be more likely to get the flu after you were given the opportunity to get the flu shot?

I'm as anti vax as they come but let's be reasonable and not try to make the covid jab the cause of everything. The lefties did that with covid in 2020 and we said they were nut jobs. Don't become a nut job.

In past years I would randomly get a flu shot. Don't trust what's in it now and never will again.
docaggie

Each year, they select what are the three most likely strains of flu to hit and cause problems, and they tailor the flu shot for that. It takes a year to get it produced, so they're making educated guesses 12 months in advance.

The problem comes in when the predominant strain is instead not one of those in the shot.

In my household, all four of us had the flu shot. Both kids came down with influenza A (one month apart).

One of the big benefits of a mrna type of vaccination was the notion that you could see what strains were making their way around the globe and gear up / produce vaccine much faster, say 2-4 months, and provide better protection.

After the COVID mrna shot, there will be little trust for awhile for that kind of vaccine, if at all.

I have an older lady that works for me that got a booster and a flu shot at the same time. A week later she got sick. Is it related? Seems that way.
