They are eating Cake.

He is telling them they are poor people who have come to the wealthy Master's house for the crumbs that fell from the Master's table.

He is the wealthy guy who never shows up to their poor shack to eat their Ugali or their Fufu made from the rice we've donated to them from our surplus.
