Just caught a 6 day ban hammer on FB for mentioning that one of my kids did something (left his shoes at home) and made a remark about how it made me want to "whip him".....
Against community standards.......F off
Why on earth would you post about whipping your kid on facebook?
Because he wanted to and there is nothing wrong with whipping/spanking your kids for disciplinary purposes.
More kids need to be whipped. At home. At school. Consequences should be swift and stern.
Idc about spanking your kids, but why on earth would you tell the world your personal family business like that? That is weird and definitely an overshare.
Over share is all Facebook is.
I think there are some legitimate uses, my wife's business for one.l, but I agree completely. I dont use it or browse it whatsoever but it is absolutely handy for marketplace, which doesn't involve sharing at all and is the only reason I have an account. Wife posts pics of the family on there I think, but her whole family lives on the other side of the country so I get that.
Social media is generally a scourge though imo.
I used to be a a co-producer for content at a large message board that covered Texas High School football. I moderated the forum with the site owner/founder. We had forums for General, Classifications, Specific districts, and specific teams as well within those districts. It was pretty glorious from about 2000-2006. Some of the more notable programs made our team forums for them their 'Official team forum' and linked it to their official booster/team websites. We had pinned messages at the top of team forums showing every known game result a team had played historically. We generated Google AdSense revenue on the message board usage.
The rise of Facebook then Twitter greatly diminished engagement on the message board and it affected the viability of generating revenue in an increasingly crowded HS football media field. Owner could not pay me anymore and I left. The owner sold the site to a holding company a few years ago.
I miss the glory days of message board engagement. TexAgs and College Football in general seems to have retained a lot of that though.
