Like I said before, even if Trump wins the presidency again he won't find 3 qualified people to join his cabinet. An effective president has to have a coalition beneath him to get things done in the legislature. This is Trump's biggest weakness.

This. Fair or not, he is toxic. What smart, competent people will want to work for him? They'll be blackballed forever in politics and business. On top of that, he'll fire your ass on a whim and then attack you and possibly even your wife and family, after you took a big risk and sacrifice and showed loyalty to him. Not even close to worth it. The type of people it would attract scares me a little honestly. I do not want them running my country.

And I couldn't wait to vote for him two years ago.

Desantis or bust. Although if he's the candidate, I am almost certain that Trump will run as 3rd party and fracture the GOP out of spite, handing the country over to the Dems for the foreseeable future.

This isn't that. These are unforced errors and should show everyone that he hasn't learned a damn thing. It's why literally no one would be shocked to see him run 3rd party and screw us even further.

Agree with all of this except the 3rd Party run. That's a guaranteed loss and complete destruction of everything for Trump. I think he goes for the nomination but at some point he cuts a deal with DeSantis for his endorsement. Trump can still be the Kingmaker and a revered figure in the GOP. If he goes 3rd Party he burns his empire down as he won't have any allies with power and enemies everywhere. It will be Trump hanging out with Roger Stone and Sebastian Gorka.

Trump is a narcissistic egomaniac but he's also smart and knows when to make a deal. He can still get most of what he wants but he won't be President again. DeSantis has shown you can have MAGA without these kinds of mistakes.

I wonder if there's any criticism of trump that you can acknowledge as legitimate. Is your sole purpose to defend Trump or to elect the best candidate?

I started a new thread because the other thread devolved into what aboutism. I wanted to focus on what this says about Trump's competence and ability to actually reform any of the things he's campaigning on.
