Climate Change: The Real Danger

Plants need CO2. If CO2 drop were to drop too low, life on Earth would become impossible.

Not only do the plants need it (as discussed in the following video), but also we need the greenhouse gases to keep the temperature to something livable. Without greenhouse gases, the average temperature would reportedly be in the single digits are so.

A few interesting tidbits:

Atmospheric CO2 has been declining in the atmosphere for the last 600 million years.

CO2 dropped to 180 parts per million at the peak of the last glaciation and that is only 30 parts per million above the "death of the planet".

The anti-Climate Change crowd (and thus, the true anti-environmental whackos) dont like the term "natural gas" and thus use "methane" because it doesn't sound so "natural".

If we stopped using fossil fuels today, in two years we would be out of trees because we would need them as fuel.

In other words, Global Warming is a good thing, not a bad thing. If you want to see a true disaster, wait until it cools back down.

A warmer earth is always preferable to a colder one.

This is like trying to convince people that the earth is round about 600 years ago or so.

600 years ago, the intelligent knew that the Earth wasn't flat. That had been proven a long time ago. Only the stupid and uneducated thought it was flat.

OP, don't you know, CO2 from humans is the wrong kind of CO2…

If enormous herbivore reptilian dinosaurs existed to the size we believe and the numbers believed... think about the amount of vegetation that would have been required AND the heat necessary to keep the cold-blooded animals warm.

There is a God. We aren't Him.

We didn't design the parameters of life on Earth. HE did!
Maybe they are afraid that if we produce more CO2, the resulting increases in vegetation will attract dinosaurs which will turn around and eat us.

The most important, abundant, heaviest-molecule "greenhouse gas" that affects the earths temp is H20(vapor). It is not constant, but like CO2 is a dependent variable.

The independent variable of climate is solar radiation which is not without fluctuations.

We are still in an ice age. Normally the average temperature on Earth is at least 10 to 20deg (Celsius) warmer.

One group of people has convinced another group of people that they can change the temperature of the entire planet.

And people are ok with it.

The global warming deal is biblical in the same sense that covid was biblical.

Global cooling is truly scary. It is inevitable and when it happens, it means starvation on a wide scale. I don't see any way tha tit wouldn't bring massive wars over the dwindling resources of the Earth.

Global warming, on the other hand, means a healthy life with abundant resources.

There's not much doubt that we can affect the climate. How much we can affect it remains to be seen.

The problem is those who think it is a bad thing.

Global warming is a tool of oppression in the same sense that covid is a tool of oppression.

It's an excuse to try and force large groups of people to act against their own interest by people that think they are smarter than everyone else and know what's best for humanity.

I'm convinced the most powerful proponents of climate change caused primarily by human activity and the means they push to combat it don't believe it at all. It's just a method to try to consolidate power in their favor. Sure They have their useful idiots to scream about it and spread the word with half truths (at best) that are true believers.

It's just Marxism in a different wrapper.

If it did happen, and that's a big if, it wouldn't be for about 10,000+ years.

I don't think we have to worry about it.

Exactly.

Even in regions that don't experience glaciation, the reduced temperatures would still be devastating. For that matter, the much less cooling of "The Little Ice Age" caused a lot of issues.

If the Eemian has anything to tell us about it, you would probably be closer saying about 2,000 to 3,500 years.

That said, the length of the interglacial periods aren't like clockwork. It wouldn't be impossible for the next interglacial to begin within the next few hundred years.

Great post Eric. We finally agree completely on something.

I have said this for two decades now.

Lunatic leftists: OMG, OMG, the temperature is going to go up 1-2 degrees globally over the next 100 years.

Me: Nice.
