The way BLS measures inflation is BS. Not just because it eliminates a lot of the items people cumulatively spend the most on, but because the items they measure are completely random. We used to own a feedstore. Every few months this old black man from BLS would come in and check the price of one product from our store to see if it had changed.....he had no idea why or how this particular item was chosen, but it was a super slow mover (maybe sold 5 a year) and when we bought them, we bought them in batches of like 25. So that's a few year's worth of inventory. The item was a super small dog collar that would barely fit a chihuahua. I said that is a slow moving item, and that they should pick a 50 lb bag of cattle cubes or a bale of hay. Those we high volume items that definitely changed price way more often than a freakin dog collar....Riddle me that.
They voted for women's rights to kill babies and so that their males can sexualize little kids. Just like Biden.TheEternalPessimist said:
We are supposed to believe that Americans actually 'voted' to continue this economic pain........

Just paid $47 for two medium pizzas to be delivered from Dominos.
Inflation doesn't seem to be lessening much.
Not sure how most people afford this.

I think you found the solution. Instead of two teas, we need to start buying two pizzas to save the economy.
Had the same experience last week when I got online to order our normal order of 2 medium pizzas and it was about $15 more than it was over the summer. Holy Cow. My family is feeling the middle class squeeze for sure. FJBYouBet said:

That isn't possible in Dallas. One medium is usually around $12-15 for pickup.JoCoAg09 said:I picked up 2 medium pizzas from Dominos for like $15 last weekend. Now, the grocery store...yikes.YouBet said:

They hammer your ass on delivery. That business must have dropped off dramatically with prices like this.
Of course now they are running a one week 50% off sale right now that we just missed.
I don't think it's that people don't care about their pocketbooks being hit. It's that they're too stupid to see whose fault it is. They believe the BS that is fed to them and think it's a result of Putin, lingering effects of covid and the huge mess that Trump supposedly left.titan said:
Doesn't really matter if it goes up. Prices and expenses were already way too high, and more than extreme enough for anyone with a functioning brain that was not excessively well off to know they needed to vote out the Dems.
The midterms proved that for one reason or another not enough cared. So higher costs won't make any difference.
That's counting delivery and tip, suppose. it seems about double what would expect. A compromise oftenYouBet said:Dallas.PeekingDuck said:How did you spend $47 dollars for 2 medium pizzas at Dominos? Where is this?YouBet said:

You got robbed. Order online, use their coupons. A medium 2 topping pizza is $6.99 doing carryout.YouBet said:Dallas.PeekingDuck said:How did you spend $47 dollars for 2 medium pizzas at Dominos? Where is this?YouBet said:
