Ancient microbial life on Mars could have destroyed the planet's atmosphere through climate change, which ultimately led to its extinction, new research has suggested.
Reverse greenhouse effect made the planet inhospitable

These "scientists" haven't even found strong evidence of life on Mars yet and they've already figured out how it all went extinct. Because climate change...

And lets also pretend Mars is in the Habitable Zone so we can tell dumb people "see! Look even those pesky, so much more advanced, intelligent aliens even destroyed their own planet because they didn't do anything about Global Warming"

Reality: Mars has always been on the fringe of the Habitable Zone, it's atmosphere is too thin and its surface is way too cold to support any kind of water nor vegetation, but aliens sound better tearing **** up.

Man there must have been a highly industrialized and technical civilization that caused all those carbon emissions…that must mean there are ancient city ruins that we'll be able to see on Mars right?

Next up, legislation to control the amount of microbes. We need to throw 3 Trillion dollars at this to make it right.

Science is easy.

The further from the Sun, the colder that planet.

Mars was never inhabitable. No even by Eskimos.

The Goldilocks zone is mathematically derived as .95 to 1.67AU from the sun (or star). Mars is technically within the zone at 1.54AU.

However, that doesnt mean that the premise of the OP is still ****ing ******ed.

We are going to cease living on this planet trying to support 6B people on solar, wind, and unicorn farts. Millions will die.

At an average surface temperature of -80 degrees F, I'd really like to understand how water remains liquid.

Wait! It is totally plausible.

Just like the dinosaurs were so big that the gravitational pull of their mass attracted a large asteroid that hit the earth which resulted in a dramatic change of climate.
Thus the dinosaurs killed themselves by self induced climate change.

They are going to go back and edit the movie to make the rover an ICE vehicle and thus the impact. Good call.

What about the demonstrable fact that Mars' gravity is too low for the planet to keep its atmosphere from being eroded away by solar winds?

The belief is that Mars was once much warmer than it is today. I'm not we'll enough versed to discuss this in detail but that's what I've read.

Man microbes that can slow the internal flow of a molten core weakening a magnetic field and allowing a ton of cosmic radiation in?? Sounds like a hell of biological weapon. Best be glad they're dead.

But Science am I right?!?

I don't think you guys realize what this means.

We find these Martian microbes that reverse greenhouse Mars. Convince them to come to Earth and work ( for a livable wage and not culturally appropriating the Martian way of life.) And they will solve our climate problems. Science
