Usually the price at the pump jumps at even the hint of what OPEC said they are going to do. I've seen it happen before an announcement, or at the latest the day after. In the spring prices were jumping on what might happen in the future, but there's been no change at the any of the pumps I've passed on the way to work.

What's different this time, or are the companies just waiting to see what else might happen?

Stock markets have been fairly tame on contracts given recent news lately. Nat gas didn't move much at the pipeline news and oil didn't hardly budge yesterday after the OPEC announcement. I've been meaning to talk to our marketing guy to see what he knows because that is very uncharacteristic of how folks in NY and overseas react. I have a feeling that the people making those deals are different folks than in years past, and they have very tight leashes, but that's def not my area of expertise.

All that to say it looks like we might not see big movement in prices unless/until we are feeling actual tangible effects on supply.

If Biden has any pull with opec at this point, it will be right after the election. Otherwise prices could get pretty high by the time the election rolls around. I suspect the Saudis are pretty unhappy with Biden and strongly prefer Trump.

I have seen my area in north houston go from 2.89 to 3.15 in a week. Seems like a pretty sizable bump to me.

Then the Dems will blame trump for not being able to convince the same Dems for filling it up when it was $24 a barrel.

Just like they are doing right now when saying that production is higher than it was under trump, because they instituted lockdowns across the country, killing demand.

You have quite the victim mentality. Does your world perspective lead you to conclude that the Biden admin can manipulate the price of gas at he pump? Sure he can flash from SR, but that's not going to stop this.

you are just incorrect-

gas prices have been rising across the country the last week and jumped up to near $7 a gallon in California yesterday.

Oh, come on with the drama....

Biden only drained 35% of the SPR!

The good news out of that is that he'll surely strap the next administration with a deal with the Saudis to replenish it at all time highs....

I think you are incorrect about only 35% drawdown of the SPR:

" when Biden took over there were 638 million barrels in the SPR.

Drawdown
Biden began drawing from the reserve last November. Since March, Biden issued emergency orders authorizing the release of a combined 190 million barrels. Including exchanges and statutorily required sales, when the most recent authorized Biden releases are complete, will bring the total in reserve down to 360 million barrels, the lowest level since 1983."

638 million to 360 million barrels
