Is there a video showing what proceeded that ass kicking? Going to guess it wasn't just a random beatdown, but slamming the guy's head into the pavement seems a bit excessive.

Damn, that's a brutal video. There's always more to the story, but I can't think of what would justify smashing his head into the concrete repeatedly.

No need to defend it and probably no way to defend it. Bad police officers exist. There are also police officers that do a good job the majority of the time but are humans and can lose their temper or make terrible decisions. Policing is an extremely stressful job.

There is no profession that has good actors 100% of the time.

The unfortunate side effect of the internet is amplifies the worst of a group and then people with an agenda use it to paint the entire group with a broad brush.

In my profession, if I screw up this bad I can lose my job and I can even go to jail. Policing should be no different. Police get a bad rap because when they screw up, they're above the law.

If the guy on the ground is black, then all of these officers are going to jail.

I don't think anyone is arguing that Bad Police exist or that Good Police are the majority.

The problem seems to be that it is more and more obvious (as more video come to light) that good cops have been enabling the bad cops to escape the punishment they deserve.

Lawlessness has no place in America and there is plenty of that in the video. Dude on the left should never be allowed to carry or own a gun again when he gets out of prison. Dude on the right needs to be fired. Middle dude needs to find a new line of work.

How the media reports this shouldn't matter. These guys should go to jail regardless of the race of the police officers or the guy they're beating the **** out of.

I agree it would be a media **** storm if it was three white cops beating the hell out of a black guy. But slamming someone's head into the concrete like that could kill somebody.

Agree with the first two sentences. I don't think the last sentence is always true, but is in some cases. At the same time i think more people are feeling that way because how hard some media outlets have worked to distort stories in recent years to play up the racial angles. People are fed one story and then completely surprised when they get off. (See Jacob Blake, Michael Brown etc.)

Then maybe we should have done something about it, Daniel Shaver should have ended all of the police bull**** in this country.... but it didn't, and his murderer is free.

Sure its not 100% of the time. But if there wasn't video documentary of this beat down, and the witness in the car testified that she saw three cops beating the hell out of this guy on the ground, would anything happen to the cops? The answer is no. There wouldn't be a chance for anyone to testify in this situation because there would never be any charges. The cops aren't going to arrest themselves.

It's the impunity that makes people angry. These guys did this because they knew they could get away with it. It's not their first beat down.

I can't even fathom a scenario that would justify slamming the perps' head to the ground multiple times while 2 other officers held him down.

I guess it's hard when you are getting your ass kicked to put your hands behind your back. That may have helped end it sooner

Nobody disagrees on any level. Just recognize that it will be treated differently by the media and likely the law if it's a white guy or black guy. You know it's true, that doesn't make it right.

Can't wait for these guys to be transferred to a different department or retire with a fat pension.
