The abortion genie is out of the bottle. We've lost.

Sam Walton's kids are raging leftists. I'm surprised it's still incorporated in Arkansas.

Guess I'll go against the grain and say I think abortion should be allowed for these use cases. Maybe its a separate argument if an employer wants to cover it.

I've given up trying to keep track of who I should and shouldn't do business with. Practically every company is woke nowadays. You can't escape it.

Exactly my thoughts. When I'm a billionaire, I'm leaving my wealth to charitable and political trusts with firm missions and dissolution terms, not turning my progeny in worthless leftists.

Abortions in most of those special cases are legal in pretty much every state now, and most are considered life preserving care for the mother.

Way to virtue signal about pretty much no change, Walmart.

Walmart could prove to be used more than other companies simply because of the types of people that work there.

Had you told me when I was younger that the conservatives Target would do something like this I'd say they were insane.

Times really are a changing.

Why would a conservative company like Walmart do this? How about paying for an employee to have a cancer treatment program at some distant clinic? Why would a company participate in killing a human being? Stupid Walmart.

and there is the answer. it's all about the money for these corps. they get an employee who isn't a mother/ win and they don't have to pay multiple months of maternity leave/ win. significantly cheaper alternative.

They are one of the top four employers of SNAP and Medicaid beneficiaries in every state, but will pay for abortions?
Quote:

Walmart was one of the top four employers of SNAP and Medicaid beneficiaries in every state. McDonald's was in the top five of employers with employees receiving federal benefits in at least nine states.
----------------------------
In six states that reported Medicaid enrollees, Walmart again topped the list, with 10,350 employees, followed by McDonald's with 4,600.

Walmart and McDonald's have the most workers on food stamps and Medicaid, new study shows

Walmart will begin paying for employee abortions, a memo obtained by The Daily Wire shows.

An August 19 memo sent from Chief People Officer Donna Morris to all U.S.-based associates and global officers states "effective immediately, the Walmart self-insured healthcare plans will cover abortion when there is a health risk to the mother, rape or incest, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage or lack of fetal viability."

The memo also states, "given how recent events are resulting in state by state healthcare environments, we will expand our travel coverage."

"We'll provide travel support for our associates and their covered dependents so they can access services covered by our Walmart self-insured plan when they are not available within 100 miles of their location," the memo said.

I'm as pro-life as they come and I don't see a problem with this, at all.

EDIT: It's pretty obvious some of you didn't actually read the entire post or article.

As MouthBQ98 pointed out, this is already the law in almost every state.

Same here. As long as health of the mother is truly a life-threatening or impacting event, and not just "oh my gosh I can't handle a pregnancy right now." Other than that, those exceptions make sense.

It's abortion-for-convenience that needs to become a distant memory.

No they're not.

At best, in these states, a mother can maybe get an abortion if she's on death's doorstep and the hospital/clinic's lawyers are willing to take the risk of getting prosecuted/sued.
