Prudent question since they are the ones that got the ball rolling.

The claim is the 15 boxes has national security sensitive information contained in it.

If actually true they'd have it and not need a warrant 18 months after he left office.

Trump didn't even pack those boxes. They were probably packed by staffers and I doubt he even knows what is in them.

This whole thing continues to be corrupt to the highest levels of our "government".

I don't trust any agency or organization that's based in Washington D.C.

This. Trump wasn't Sandy Berger smuggling out classified documents in his socks.

A simple subpoena would have sufficed. If Trump ignored or refused to cooperate with the subpoena, then you have probable cause for a search warrant and/or a show cause hearing.

And during the transition, everything is documented of what is turned over to the archives and what remains with the President. It's a process and one that usually doesn't directly involve the President himself.

Who is making that claim? The DOJ isn't saying anything, so it must be coming from Trump.

Yeah. Why a no-notice warrant? For some sentimental notes and letters Trump took with him? Seems to be overkill.

Yes. Not to mention the subpoena would become a public story if refused, and further assist any FBI stance about it. Instead, it looks like what it is--- total corruption probably geared toward CYA of guilt in the Obiden govt.

So, you think Trump claiming ignorance is the way to go?

While this theory certainly has plausibility on its side, it falls a bit short on relevancy.

Side story:

I was speaking with my kids about the 4th amendment the other day, and wanted to pull up the text of the BoR.

The National Archives own website does not readily produce the text of the BoR.

Instead, it 'tells you what each amendment says' instead of simply printing the text.

This is under a heading "What does [the BoR] say?", where you would expect the actual text of the document to appear:

https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/bill-of-rights/what-does-it-say

I had to dig around on the National Archives website for a good 5 minutes to find a link to a transcription of the 4th amendment.

I thought to myself "this is really absurd, at best, and politically motivated, at worst."

Probably half dozen or more news stories are indicating this clearly and in plain English.
The search warrant will clearly and explicitly describe what they were looking for, how it was evidence of which specific crimes had been committed, why seizure at the time was necessary, and supporting evidence of the crimes and why they believed Mar-A-Lago contained the evidence they needed to prosecute said crimes.

If Trump wanted us to know what the warrant says, he would release it, not simply hearsay from his son about what it says.

You indicated the claims were coming from Trump. The media seem to believe it is national security related.

Regurgitation of the warrant process doesn't prove or disprove either.

You asked who was making the claim and I told you.

Hilary had a separate server set up to evade the government.
After getting caught she was allowed to decide what was personal and remove it. Then eventually the FBI wiped the server. She was allowed to pick the location and day of her "interview". This took place after the director already wrote the FBI findings.

It's as crazy as you could imagine!

Nothing happens
