"Work hard to have things" -- unlike politicians and crime dismissing DAs who can just vote it to themselves regardless of if put in any effort.Quote:

The man is still on the run, Dallas police records show. Hayner says he hopes the man will get caught because he and his neighbors have had enough.
"We're sick of this. We're not going to put up with this anymore," he said. "Everyone is so happy that I fought back. A bunch of neighbors came by to say thanks because I probably saved their cars from getting taken."

It should be legal to use thieves as target practice.
Quote:
A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41 ; and
(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or
(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and
(3) he reasonably believes that:
(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or
(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

If it had been an electric vehicle, he could have jumped in and backed up immediately while the thief was still trying to figure out where the catalytic convert is located on an electric car.SamjamAg said:
He should have jumped in van and backed up. Say he didn't know he was there.

Reminds me…this person I play video games with occasionally had a vehicle break down after work one evening. Went back the next morning to get the car and it was surrounded by cops and what not. Some schmuck jacked up the car trying to steal the converter and the jack gave way. Crushed the dude to death. Freakin hilarious. I'm too lazy to Google it, but it's out there. Somewhere in North Carolina.

I guess there is at least one reason to buy an electric vehicle.
