in this case, no-billed by people with functioning brains. Also, 8/10 with a 9mm carry pistol at 40 yards. Damn.

ETA: judged by 12; carried by 6; billed by 0. Justice served.

And should some city be stupid enough to prosecute a good samaritan who broke such a law in the proces, no bill them.

Pretty sure 2A destroyed gun control from the begining.

Your pet congress critter just needs to be continually reminded that the Constitution matters more than their opinion, regardless of whether they adorn themselelves with an R or D.

A Soros prosecutor would. Just like the store owner in NYC which was attacked and killed his attacker with a knife and was then charged with murder.

Even though the charges were eventually dropped, he should have never been charged at all.

Never underestimate the agenda of these people for they never change even if it was done to save lives. They do not care.

Isn't it crazy that by law a justified shoot in an illegal carry situation is a defense to prosecution…. at least in TX.

Not only do they not care, as the installation of Sorosian DA program shows, criminals are their proxy for creating instability. Its what they want. Its why they so resent right-wing movements that tend to bear down so hard on an anti-crime stance.

NBC Nightly news a few days ago profiled gun violence by selecting four cities, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Houston. to show how gun violence is destroying those cities.

The teams rode in police cars for a day and night and responded to shootings and interviewed ER personnel, police, and victims families.

However, one of the shootings they profiled happened in Houston in which a man at an ATM was approached by a man with a gun to rob him. The victim then drew his gun and shot the robber dead.

I guess it was a slow night in Houston to profile a self defense with a gun.

Are you certain the charges were dropped? I looked for some more recent info and couldn't find anything so here is to hoping your confidence is high.

Is this mall's "gun free policy" enforceable like a 30.06 posted sign or is it a virtue policy ?

I have read two people who live in or near Indy - author Michael Z. Williamson and blogger/gun writer Tamara Keel - say that the "No Guns" signs are not legally enforcable in Indiana.

It may have been the wish of the mall owner, but they can't arrest anyone for it.

Military or LEO's who believe only they should carry are traitors IMO.

So this got me thinking what a spectacular shooting that was.

http://gundata.org/blog/post/9mm-ballistics-chart/

Look at the blue/green chart (scroll down a smidge)

"While the 1.8 in drop of the 9mm bullet at 50 yards may not sound bad, it all goes downhill from there. In fact at the 100 yard mark the bullet will have dropped -12.0311 in (over a foot). So if you are shooting at a target 100 yards away you need to aim a full foot above the target, and without a scope that is very hard to judge at that distance."

This target was at 120' so a little over 6" drop. To hit center mass, dude needed to be aiming pretty much between the eyes. Wait not I am reading that wrong. It would have been just over a 2" drop. So maybe not as impressive, but none the less to hit 8/10 is legit.

CNN can suck my right nut, here is their take on the Good Samaritan:

Quote:

There were at least 434 active shooter attacks in the US from 2000 to 2021, according to the ALERRT data. Active shooter attacks were defined as those in which one or more shooters killed or attempted to kill multiple unrelated people in a populated place.

Of those 434 active shooter cases, an armed bystander shot the attacker in 22 of the incidents. In 10 of those, the "good guy" was a security guard or an off-duty police officer, the ALERRT data said.

And having more than one armed person at the scene who is not a member of law enforcement can create confusion and carry dire risks, according to a data analysis published by The New York Times. For example, an armed bystander who shot and killed an attacker in 2021 in Arvada, Colorado, was himself shot and killed by the police who mistook him for the gunman, the Times reported.
Maybe all the states allowing constitutional carry will increase that number of citizens ready to defend from 12 to 120. And maybe that will reduce the number of people who attempt these shootings at the same time.

We had been looking into getting a gun and license, but one of the websites I looked at had a big section on how to protect/defend yourself against prosecution and lawsuits in the event of an incident where you used your gun such as this. Definitely has paused our process.

If you are that worried, you can pay for Texas Law Shield. Essentially a retainer for a law firm that only handles client gun cases in the event you use it.

I'd much prefer facing a lawsuit than the possible alternative outcomes of being unarmed when you really need it.

Just do it. Better to be broke than dead.

Most of those websites get paid a kickback from the pre-paid legal defense companies. Yes, you could get sued, but if you're in Texas, you have decent protection from a civil suit if you had a justified shoot.

The biggest thing is get trained and practice regularly. A gun does you no good if you don't always carry it and are proficient at using it.
