How come only one gets brought up, and one is denied of ever happening?

I know a lot of guys will tell women things that they assume they don't know, without asking them first. I can understand how that can feel demeaning, and make you feel like you are being treated like an idiot.

The reason I know what it feels like is because women treat men like this constantly, but refuse to acknowledge it.

It is them having a VOICE.

I think the difference is that woman actual know you know, but they need to hear themselves talk anyway.

Womansplaining is not a woman telling a man the correct way to do something. It is her telling him how she would have done it regardless of whether it's correct or not.

Because women don't explain, they lecture and/or nag.

Hate to say it, but a lot of women need certain basic, real world, practical every day things explained to them. And a lot of guys need certain things explained to us by women. Some of the smartest, most educated and successful females I know but aren't very smart or knowledgeable when it comes to every day stuff...and logic and deep thought isn't their strong suit. That is not a knock on their IQ or cognitive abilities, I just think most women have valued or emphasized diff things in their lives. And we are just wired differently...one group has more emotion at play than the other, which can cloud reason and judgement.

I was converted several years back when we were remodeling ours. Conversations with my contractor were easier when I adopted his definition.

Is the waterway used, by the homeowner, for business or pleasure? Is the boat taken to the grocery store? Does mail arrive by ferry? Business in front, party in back...street side is front side!

To me it's when a woman requires her own independent confirmation of something, not just believing the man. Like multiple times for the same fact or incident. Can't take the man at face value.

See what I mean? Always elicits the explanations and justifications. Have had that conversation with my husband many times in the first few years we owned it.

LOL. When The Hubs says he will do something, "here in a little bit," it could mean that day, next month, next year.

On of my favorite parts of the Wheel of Time is the way the men and women complain about each other all the time. This one in particular makes me laugh.
