Right. They should not have to. Power should be cut to the officials making the stupid decisions "to share" if that is the case. In military terms there should be a redundant backup for when there is no wind, period. Even if it means violating some foolish pollution regulation for a few days until the wind generators can work again. Obvious.CDUB98 said:

Its a shame that there's an energy source out there that can take care of all of this but the left might be more scared of it than oil. The push for EV's without Nuclear power is beyond ignorant.Capt. Augustus McCrae said:
So if wind isn't sustainable, and natural gas power plants get overloaded, our fall back is to gasoline or diesel generators.
It's almost like unicorn farts don't really create a reliable form of energy...
What generator did you get if you don't mind posting?NoahAg said:CDUB98 said:

Prioritize. Don't need a whole house generator. Just enough for a portable AC and fans. That's less than $1,000.
My portable is powerful enough for nearly my whole house, including a 5 ton AC unit. Total cost including electrician was under $2,000.
We keep talking about it, but we have lived in Texas since 1991 and have never had a power outage lasting more than an hour. We had more and longer power outages in Florida. Even during the Snow Apocalypse we never lost power. I guess we have been lucky?NoahAg said:
After last year's freeze and previous hurricane every responsible homeowner should have a generator and food stocked up. Can't rely on the government.
We never lost power at my house on N Padre Island either during the Snowpocalypse. Lost water though...2aggiesmom said:We keep talking about it, but we have lived in Texas since 1991 and have never had a power outage lasting more than an hour.
