Please share charities that we can all donate money or time to help with family planning, pregnancy, adoption, child-care, etc. We donate to some services through Catholic Charities but what else is out there?

I'm happy as hell Roe is overturned and babies are saved. How do we help them now?

I am pro life but I also acknowledge our country does a terrible job taking care of single mothers and families that adopt. Here are a few charities that I donate to:

There are crisis pregnancy centers or pregnancy resource centers all over, so searching those terms should help you find something local to you. We have one here in Huntsville, AL that is the Huntsville Pregnancy Resource Center. It is a 501(c)3. They provide a lot of resources to guide a pregnant woman in the decision-making process. They will not refer a woman for an abortion, but some women using their resources ultimately do go that route. Ultrasounds are provided, parenting classes (for fathers as well) and support pre- and post-birth is all part of their services.

Young Life is a Christian ministry for high school kids. They have a Younglives program that ministers to teen moms, helps them thru their pregnancy, teaches them how to be a good mom (and baby daddy how to be a good father), encourages them to continue their education, and provides events and gifts and different times during the year.

There's probably a Young Life program where you live.

This was brought up in a newsletter/ organization my father subscribes to or gets emails from. Might have been First Liberty. Not sure the details, but he mentioned it to me...

The comment made was they were acknowledging that churches were going to HAVE to step up their game when this decision came down and that they better be ready for it! The conservative/ religious right wanted this decision to happen. Now it's time to support the results of said decision!

Nonprofits that might be worth investigating

I haven't looked thoroughly through that site I linked...adoption is just one of the categories.

What you've brought up is the aspect that is fundamentally "pro-life" and not just "anti-abortion". There is a real opportunity for everyone, but particularly those who were most adamant about RvW being overturned, to put their money where their beliefs are in a manner that is not solely tied to government funding.

Besides it being the right thing to do, an ancillary realpolitik upside of providing material support for organizations that want to help with adoption, et al is that it neuters the "you don't care about them after they're born" argument.

Christian Homes Family Services out of Abeline is an excellent adoption organization.

Small and local, but great at keeping cost per adoption low and they do an excellent job with the mental and social aspects for birth moms and adaptive families alike.

They have been serving Texas for a long, long time.

I know the people who started this charity. They are rescuing women from terrible situations and helping to save the lives of unborn children. This is a worthy cause to give to.

St. Martha's in Kingwood has The Gabriel Project. This project may be in other areas as well.
Not sure if 40 Days For Life has these services; however, I could see them having information on where to go for assistance.

A close family friend of mine works at this non profit. They counsel women who have unwanted pregnancies and try to convince them not to abort the baby. They do a lot of good and a lot of women they counsel are low income minorities.

They need all the help they can get.

TBH, the tone of this post is pretty off-putting. Ultimately, it's the parents that HAVE to step up. Christian obligations come from God, not a court decision.

Maybe I'm reading you wrong.

Got this text from my mother this morning:

A thought: It would be great if every pro-lifer here could find their nearest pregnancy resource center and make a commitment to donate $6.24, $62.40, or $624 (whatever you have capacity for) every year on this date. They do heroic work and deserve our support.

One of the best things we could do would be to get rid of govt interference in every market, allowing for prosperity and success, which would give families and individuals more money to either use themselves, or donate.

I don't give much to charity anymore, I can't afford it. Used to give a LOT more, but at every turn there are fees, taxes and surcharges..on top of overly expensive things.
