Thoughts? Predictions?
Yep. There may be a slight change in turn-out, but over the summer the reality that abortion is a STATES issue should sink in and the #currentthing cycle will have moved on several times and the left's hope will reside in the perversion of voting mechanics on swing states (again) and promises of free stuff. My Name Is Judge said:
Not at all
The people that want to kill babies & pedo up children are already gonna vote how they vote
The thing to watch for is a fresh new hoax virus variant so they can flood fake mail-in & drop off ballots

I think it will hurt the Republicans.
Conservatives are going to go all in on eliminating all abortions which will alienate a lot of independents who currently disapprove of Biden. It's also going to energize liberal college students.
Republicans will still take the House but won't take the Senate.
it's an extremist issue. It won't rally the troops so to speak.Clob94 said:
You guys are WAY more optimistic than I.
I think the crazies use this as a rallying cry. What would have been an absolute clean sweep will now be much more hotly contested.

It's May. This will change nothing. Inflation and the economy will drive what happens in November and it is still on pace to be a red wave. Maslow's hierarchy.
Homicide is the correct legal definition for a human intentionally killing another human.dmart90 said:
I think this is spot on. Louisiana on deck with an extreme law that makes abortion a homicide won't help. Dems will rally around the idea of a federal law legalizing abortion. Biden wasn't motivating anyone to vote. This will.
For the record, not a fan of abortion based on my religious beliefs. But extreme positions, even at the state level, will motivate voters on a national level.

None...
The ones that are the most passionate about this are already concentrated in areas that have favorable laws on the books.
For the overwhelming majority... NOTHING in their daily lives will change because of this. You'll hear a few anecdotal stories, but they'll be the exception, and truly far between.
The soul crushing price of life due to inflation and the ever rising cost of fuel will be the drivers at the polls.

FWIW, GOP is -360 to control the Senate after midterms. GOP was -320 two weeks ago. They're -900 to control the House. That's up from -650.

And yet the National Republican Senate Committee is telling candidates not to talk about abortion.
Odd.

Odd.
Why would they talk about an issue where the GOP just got a big win, and that doesn't affect voters' day-to-day lives?
GOP messaging should be on the failures of the Dems on the economic front.
That's not being scared. That's just good politics.
The Dems are probably telling their candidates to not talk about climate change. Why? It's not something voters give a crap about when inflation is running rampant.
