Did The Handmaid's Tale coincidentally come up as your suggested show as it did for me?

I don't understand this handmaids tale reference. I haven't really watched just saw a bit when my wife watched it. But isn't that show about forcing a woman to have sex with the husband to have their baby because the wife can't? It's not about fighting abortion? The handsmaid tale seems more like a reference to slavery, rape, etc. am I wrong?

It's a dystopian, Sci fi show about a US ruled by a Christian Theology. This theological government heavily restricts the rights of women. That's really all you need to know about why the liberals keep referencing it anytime anything remotely related to women come up.

It's basically sharia law attributed to Christians. It's a really, really stupid show for stupid people (plus the lead actress's facial expressions are insufferable).

Out of curiosity, I pulled up Hulu to see what I would get and the opening screen was one big ad for "Asian and Pacific Islander Stories".

I guess all the attacks on them by white supremacists triggered a focus on the Asians this month.
