Did The Handmaid's Tale coincidentally come up as your suggested show as it did for me?

I don't understand this handmaids tale reference. I haven't really watched just saw a bit when my wife watched it. But isn't that show about forcing a woman to have sex with the husband to have their baby because the wife can't? It's not about fighting abortion? The handsmaid tale seems more like a reference to slavery, rape, etc. am I wrong?

So it's the left's fetishized fantasy of a hell that they use to demonize and dehumanize their political opposition with?

Handmaids Tale is what if America treated women like women are treated in fundamentalist Islamic states but they don't like it when you point that out

It's a dystopian, Sci fi show about a US ruled by a Christian Theology. This theological government heavily restricts the rights of women. That's really all you need to know about why the liberals keep referencing it anytime anything remotely related to women come up.

That's probably because according to my Google calendar, 5/1 was the start of "The First Day of Asian Pacific Heritage Month". Who even knew there was such a thing.YouBet said:
Out of curiosity, I pulled up Hulu to see what I would get and the opening screen was one big ad for "Asian and Pacific Islander Stories".
I guess all the attacks on them by white supremacists triggered a focus on the Asians this month.

And in the show the women that manage to escape the oppression sneak to Canada like the Underground Railroad and Canadians are portrayed as the free compassionate caring saviors to the American crazy religious authoritarians.
