For the first time in like 12 years or so of the FTAB, RV, FDT and Parsons leading the Battle of Flowers Parade.....this year they did not attend due to parents week end and the M and W game. Was a great disappointment to the SA folks.

I can guarantee it wasn't a disappointment to those groups. Battle of the Flowers sucked donkey balls and was among the biggest boofs imaginable.

I hate tu.
But, the horn band's tribute at the bonfire game will forever get them some respect from me.
The only time I've cried at Kyle Field.

Then they did actual research and found nothing that indicated anything having to do with race. It was a ridiculous assertion in the first place by a typical race huckster, and the Texas Tribune kept running the same basic story to try and re-kindle the flames.

How could "The Eyes of Texas are Upon You" mean 'we're watching you black people' when the lyrics were written decades before any black students attended Texas? The whole idea was stupid.

My daughter is a student over there. Yesterday we attended an honors ceremony, one for her college and one for the University as a whole. Three things stood out.

1. They LOVE to tell you how great they are. Aggies talk about community and becoming an Aggie and the Aggie Network. tu talks about how great they are. A lot.
2. They sang the Eyes at the end. I noticed that several of the students, like maybe half, didn't do the hand sign. No way for me to know if they sang along.
3. Mask compliance was below 10% which was honestly lower than I expected. Of that group I'm guessing 75% were college aged. It was comical seeing a 20 year old wearing a mask walking with their 50 year old parents who weren't. Of the group of kids wearing them most were white.

As mentioned above, Texas got around this issue by creating a "separate but equal" band.

Those who were woke about The Eyes complained they needed to be in marching band for professional reasons (they were going to become a band director), So a separate band was created just for them so they can march and not have to play that song.

That wasn't the way to get around the issue. That was the way to "push out" the ****ing idiots who wouldn't play the song. The band director who allowed it to become an issue is no longer an employee of The University, either. Of course, I would have just dismissed the fragile children, but that's me.
