Aren't most of the GOP elite pervs too? Not surprising.

No Republican who isn't in a 100% safe seat is going to risk being called a racist for an 80% Dem vote being replaced with a 100% Dem vote.

She's particularly vulnerable because Maine is barely even purple these days

Usual GOP suspects were never going to vote no, regardless of the red flags and tell tale signs that this is a nominee that has not gotten to this level based on intellectual merit like a Condi Rice did.

But she had to really study hard and even be convinced on some of Trumps nominees.

Republicans are just as bad as Democrats- in some cases worse.

We thought the same about Will Hurd's seat and now it is solid red because the politician wasn't a squish.

We went to Maine last summer. It is a beautiful place in the summer. Portland looked like Austin before it was overrun with Californians. Drive 20 miles inland, and the state looks like East Texas with all the Trump flags still flying.

"Primary her" does nothing. She is what Maine wants in a Republican. There are nowhere near enough "conservatives" to beat her.

Let them have her. Because Biden initially said "I'm going to hire a black woman" instead of saying "I'm going to hire the most qualified person" and it ending up being a black woman-- by Biden's own words, we now have 8 qualified justices and a token black woman.

Besides, let's not forget that she graduated cum laude from the same class that Ted Cruz graduated Magna Cum Laude..

Being in a purple/blue state, I could almost forgive her for voting for both , but only voting for KJB is not a good look

She was confirmed when nominated. The fact she loves pervs and doesn't know what a woman is was never going to stop her. I sort of blame Trump for this for not working to keep Georgia red in the senate.

Also a great reminder to those conservatives that wanted to play nice and wait until after the election to nominate another for SCOTUS. You have to claw for everything you can get - those who oppose your views will not do you any courtesies, so don't hamstring yourselves.

WHAT? She isn't up for reelection until 2026 when she will be 76 years old. She already has some sort of NM disorder like early parkinsons. she isn't running again

I don't have much of an issue here with Collins. She doesn't claim to be anything different than what she is as a Moderate Republican who loves to feel like she is bipartisan. It's how she has been elected over and over in Maine. She doesn't go out of her way to bash other Republicans or Trump, she just doesn't agree on a lot of issues and she votes accordingly. Primary her with a conservative and they will lose.

Romney and Murkowski though are a completely different matter. Those are RINOs in Dark Red states that try and pretend like they are conservatives but live for opportunities to screw over the party.

Collins single-handedly pulled Kav's ass out of the fire while being the number one Dem Senate target in 2020. I'll trade a vote against ACB when we don't need her for a vote for Kav when we do and a vote for KBJ when it won't affect the outcome. Otherwise, we get a Maine Dem that is a rubber stamp for Schumer.

Unfortunately true. This nominee is a very weak candidate, but in the current climate no one is going to fall on their sword over that.

It is just frustrating as hell to watch conservative nominees get pulverized over fabricated personal flaws while liberal nominees skate by on weak qualifications.

I give Collins no credit. As much as I dislike people in her position making the political calculation over principle (it is questionable she has any), what is galling is that she has to make a public statement about to catch the love of the MSM for a few days. She could have just shut up and voted when the time came. But no, let's make a big "lengthy statement" and do a lot of turd polishing so we can get some headlines and spotlight time. Disgusting.
