#1) He knows that there are plans to send troops and he wasn't supposed to say that openly?
#2) He thinks that they are really going to Ukraine and he doesn't know that they aren't?

What's the full context? I'm wondering if he's just referring to the Poland-Ukrainian border. Special Forces have probably been in country, but I don't think we could hide sending in an Airborne force.

I really have a bad feeling that this is the case. Everything that is happening just feels so orchestrated and coordinated. Right now I am wondering why we have sent the 82nd to Poland if we are trying to stay out of this fight. Generally we send a much smaller force to just show the flag and proclaim our support for an ally.
