I am thankful I don't live in Ukraine, a very poor country, the poorest in Europe with no middle class. A country where most enterprises are owned by the government, a nation with so much government corruption it stifles growth and freedom.


Private property ownership is rare except in Kiev, the second most expensive city in Europe to live in. There is no middle class in Ukraine, just rich from corruption and the poor.

When a Christian says "be thankful for what you have", I know it means that God has provided us with many things; life, art, free will, beauty that we should appreciate and understand how life fits in the big picture.

When a leftist says "be thankful for what you have", I know it means that you should be happy with less than you had before and you should accept declining standards because it could be worse for you tomorrow and probably will be with them in charge.

I'm thankful for rule 1 on Texags and rigid compliance with said rule.
