Maybe it's me, but I'm tiring of the Clay and Buck show. It's somewhat entertaining, but I'm not finding it very inciteful. I feel like if I listen to it for 20 minutes I've heard everything I'm going to hear for the next 3 hours.

Your not the only one. I always learned something from Rush.
Clay and Buck are just confirmation bias, and repetitive at that.

They will never be Rush. No one will ever come close. Miss him like I would miss my right arm.

its tough bc the show "starts" at 11:00, but then has ads until about 11:05, they then talk for about 10 minutes and then have commercials until 11:22 and then only talk for a few minutes, they then do their 30-45 second ads and have commercials/790 updates until 11:35...

rinse and repeat for 3 hours...

Listening to Clay & Buck everyday is like listening to that one day every few weeks when Rush is talking about things I just don't think are that important.

Clay is not well-researched on most of the issues. He's right on a lot of the big ones, but you can tell he is playing a part right now and not truly original in any of his thinking. I like him, and I like his Outkick show, but he is a poor substitute for Rush.

Clay and Buck are fine, but they are no substitute for Rush. I know I could always count on Rush to find the right take on an issue and it was very frequently a surprising one I hadn't considered.

I was remind of this recently while listening to a sermon on hope and how Rush talked about hope as being passive and not always a good thing. It's angles like that you don't get everywhere. He was unique.

Buck is improving with every show. He is smart enough and has enough conservative chops that he could very well end up satisfying what you need. Heck, all of us need.

However, clay is not improving. He has a massive ego without the history of political savviness to back it up. He is a reformed two time Obama voter who claims conservatism because of the left's Covid tyranny. He is nothing more than a populist who will crash and burn sometime in the future.

The problem is Clay dominates the show. He will overwhelm Buck who is a much stronger replacement for Rush.

Don't forget that Buck did substitute for Rush many times over the years.

I still wanted Mark Steyn.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Clay voted for Obama…TWICE.
That's all you need to know about Clay.

Also, Clay, IN MY OPINION, is trying too hard to believe what he's actually saying.

I also think Mark Steyn was the heir apparent, but I only like Mark Steyn within the confines of the Rush Limbaugh show format. When he did his own show I didn't care for it as much.

Much better to listen to. And since he went into syndication he's not as Pennsylvania heavy.

One of the things that made Rush great was he understood Democrats and liberals at their core. He also understood DC and the importance of things like being invited to the right cocktail parties. He was one of a kind.

I like listening to Michael Berry most of the time. But he would have to change his schtick if he were to get a national platform.

I've only listened to them a few times as the big WBAP up here in DFW carries Bongino, but I would frankly prefer if they were the ones instead. Dan just seems angry/repetitive most of the time.

All that said, I don't find that any of them hold a candle to the insight/takes Rush provided daily. I don't remember Rush ever being angry or down. He's just irreplaceable, to me.

I used to listen to Michael every afternoon, here in the northwest. I don't think any stations here carry his show anymore.

I have actually grown really fond of listening to Markley, Van Camp & Robbins in Rush's am time slot.

I like this show more than I did Rush's show. Rush was a one man show. With 55 minutes of filler talk and 5 minutes of to the point commentary.

Rush had the ability to provide a bigger picture that was a level or two deeper than the other shows. He went into the ulterior motives, the less obvious effects that might result from a given action, etc.

Rush educated; the others just regurgitate what you already know.

No one is going to fill even one of Rush's shoes. It'll be a group effort to keep up his work. I like Bongino and Michael Berry now mostly. I've also been listening to some Daily Wire podcasts too.

Rush gave us insight, he did the heavy lifting for those of us who actually work and have real jobs. Clay and Buck mostly parrot what we already know.
It was always going to come to an end, but it happened just a little bit quicker than we would've liked.
Michael Berry is the closest I've found. I need someone to pay attention to it when I can't.

Clay Travis - talking head parroting what we know
Buck Sexton - potential for the younger generation - could be insightful and is analytical.
Bongino - too emotional
Michael Berry - walks with Rush
