I've talked to many people who simply have an undying hatred for Trump as their excuse for backing Biden. I'm not even kidding. It continues strongly to this day.

Even though it was a roll thread, I do wish staff would try to let threads stand more often. As I think it's bad for building healthy disagreement. Not just on TexAgs, but in our culture and society.

If everyone responding to a troll thread is rising above the bait and simply calling out OP, that should not be considered threatening or problematic for readers to consume. Instead, you are covering up their bad behavior/idea by removing it entirely from others' viewing. Thus, no one sees the negative feedback for proclaiming certain bad ideas. And no one can grow accordingly.

The person with the bad post has no incentive to grow and become better, and the reader does not have to challenge themselves to have self control and have a thought provoking discussion or consideration for things which they do not agree with.

Not to mention, if the poster that is not well recieved can provide a legitimate argument to their thoughts, then maybe we are all better for having had the discussion. And it instead can be evolved and discussed with a more formable approach the second go around and even more reasonable/formable thereafter.

Let's make censorship a rarity, an absolute last resort. Let's be Americans -- responsible and free. We can compete our ideas in the arena of debate and discussion.

If we cannot figure this out on TexAgs, which has a large educated populace in one centealized place, then how can we expect other sites and platforms to figure it out?
