Something to ponder for those of you who want to limit or prohibit private gun ownership.

What are you implying? They're nowhere close to our gun culture.

We need to get that number over 200. Everybody should own multiple guns.

Every time I read about Beto confiscating guns, I responded by stopping by the gun shop on the way home from work. There are now enough lower receivers lost in the Dam B reservoir to arm a cartel.

The Ukrainian government is offering to arm any citizen that wants to fight the Russians.

Let's say we consider this invasion situation in Texas since we're of similar size geographically. Do you think the government would need to offer to arm the citizens, or would it be the other way around?

We're a few weeks away from the 105th anniversary of the Zimmerman note.

It always makes me chuckle that a secondary reason Mexico didn't do Germany's bidding was because Texan citizens were so well armed.

I suspect that the military is well enough armed and with bigger weapons that they wouldn't worry much about it.

I mean…. I wouldn't stop the govt from giving me some guns since the tragic boating accident.

Good thing our monster military never had to worry about an insurgency without heavy arms.

And the Vietnamese guerrillas did not have direct access to the American soldiers and politicians families. We live amongst them. The Vietnamese would have made short work of American willpower in that situation.

"The military"

What military? I'm not talking about a civil war in the US. I'm talking about another country invading the US.

And I frankly think it's a foolish and weird thing to discount the impact that an incredibly armed population like ours would have in preventing an invasion.

The whole point is that the 2nd amendment is probably our #1 invasion deterrent and national security asset. No other country has the capability of invading and occupying our country.

All that also goes for the Republic of Texas, which I hope to see again. TEXIT

During hurricane Harvey aftermath I got to witness the mobilization of the Cajun Navy. That alone should give pause to any invading force.

Just imagine if they were armed and looking for a fight!

Just send ammo.
Today, unfortunately, many Americans have good reason to fear that they will be victimized if they are unable to protect themselves. And today, no less than in 1791, the Second Amendment guarantees their right to do so. - Justice Samuel Alito 2022

That's not a deterrent, that's a challenge. Two different things.
.

Two giant oceans, and a big ass country, plus the most powerful military on Earth. Civilian guns are a moot point.

Switch Mexico and USA's military power but keep USA's gun culture and does now powerful Mexico have a chance at invading and occupying USA?
