I live in Guadalupe County in Congressional District 28. It goes into San Antonio, down to Laredo, and southeast along the border. I doubt seriously we're going to elect a Republican this fall, and I know very little about the Republicans running in the primary. What I do know is I don't want the AOC clone, Cisneros, representing me in the Congress. I'm thinking seriously of voting for Henry Cuellar in the Democrat primary and the voting for the Republican in the fall. Thoughts?

You can't.

Why not?

As long as never plan to run for office go for it. No one knows who you vote for but which primary you vote in is public record.

I think I misunderstood your question. You can't vote D in the primary then switch parties for the runoff. But I guess there's nothing stopping you from crossing party lines in the general.

really? why not? You give the chance to vote in the R primary that's all. WAY back in 08 I voted for Buckw Obama in the dem primary just for the fun of voting against that (fill in dozens of insulting adjectives) Hilldog.

Fun but didn't do much good in the long run.

He just cannot vote for Republicans in any other primary races, as he will receive the Democratic primary ballot.

As a participant in Operation Kaos, I can confirm you can cross over in the primary. But there are likely very important down-ballot reasons you shouldn't.

Well, I did it. I voted in the Democrat primary. Lightning didn't strike me. To be fair, lightning didn't strike me in 1976 when I became the first in my family to ever vote in the Republican primary.
