I'm on the third notice from my employer asking me to declare my vaccination status. I'm not vaccinated and I don't want to declare this out of fear of future negative consequences. I'm being told that this will remain confidential, but I know that at least someone is interested in knowing. I don't believe it's any of their business. Anybody else experiencing this? Anybody know what my rights are? I live and work in Texas.

Yup, they had me declare 6 months back or so. Still no mandate, but I keep waiting.

Early in 2021, they also had us fill out a silly mandatory questionaiite with answers similar to below.

Q: when will you get the vaccine?

A. I already have
B. As soon as it is available to me
C. I will not be getting the vaccine

Seemed purposeful leaving out the obvious wait and see group.

Nope, granted I operate on a contractual basis.

I did have 3 clients attempt to have me take a short DEI class. I fired 2 of them, and only accept work from the 3rd because they apologized.

Residential/Commercial Appraisal Management Companies that go woke go broke very quickly in this industry.

Company I work for has a task out in Workday to upload it. They are slow playing the compliance knowing it's in limbo right now but they haven't taken the request down. Already told them I wasn't getting jabbed and will work remote or test if needed. If I get on a **** list, so be it, I've had my fill of this crap.

CEO admits it's a crappy situation, but still stays the course. I understand that Brandon has put them in an impossible spot.

My company required an vaccine status acknowledgement - said it was only to be shared with HR, and only used to determine return-to-work plans based on location. It was explicitly stated that your manager would NOT have access to the information.

I told my boss then that I didn't expect this information to be handled appropriately or in the manner we were being told - but I was on the way out for vacation and trying to not make his life miserable, so I checked the box.

Three months later, we've introduced our new 2022 return to work plan (that is largely in line with the OSHA ETS). Low an behold, the unvaccinated are required to have weekly testing, and of course your manager needs to know if you're required to test and if you have a positive result. Oh, and of course we have to share that information with the third party testing company as well.

If they want the data, and aren't asking for it through a truly anonymized source, they're likely going to use it for something, and you can't take that pee back out of the pool once it's there.

Our company said the same when this rolled out. Then they immediately notified managers of accommodations (mandates) for those unvaxxed employees.

My company mandates that you must be vaccinated to work in the office. The unvaccinated must work from home. Had to prove it with our card to HR. No option for testing.

Problem is that that there are some potions of this job that must be completed in a lab setting. The few that have refused vaccination either have been relying on others on their team to cover that work which is getting old or haven't been able to properly do their job and have had to move on.

The courts have shot down both the EO and the OSHA rule. How is your company in a hard spot?

Not a popular opinion but you can always decide to get vaxxed right? So if you say you're not, you still could change your mind in the future.

Ask where in the HR policy manual there are consequences for not taking the jab? Hint, there likely are none.

Company I work for took a vaccine "census" to better plan for the implementation of the mandate when it gets ruled on. If you didn't answer by the deadline, they are going to treat you as unvaccinated.

I am a partner in a medium sized firm that followed the science and law (or really lack thereof).

We don't require vaccination and will not be asking for proof of anything.

I refused my status but told them they could consider me unvaxxed and then put forth a religious exemption to refrain from "future interaction" with the vaccine as we have a mandate. Allows you to continue working in good faith while protecting your health info as much as possible.

Shockingly enough my large financial firm has slow played everything. They just rolled out a voluntary (and they clearly stress voluntary) reporting of vax status. There are no mandates at this time, just gathering info. I feel like they are the trying to avoid putting a mandate in place due to the vast bulk of the leadership and employees being in the Deep South. Nothing on the west coast or NE. I'm hopeing it lasts.

Sounds to me like you lost your card and can go the declaration route.

Shot it down for now, and hopefully for good, but large companies still have the mindset it could move forward and with the ridiculous planning requirements not considered by OSHA, they (companies) just can't enact it overnight. We have a dictator that has obviously tried something illegal so who is to say what the next step will be.

My question was "so if I remain unvaxxed, I have to get a negative test to come into the office. This negative test has to be from a third party. Who do I submit it to and what person at the front door of the office is approved to let me in when I prove my negative test? That person is not an HR person and they can easily understand my status."

Of course there was great hemming and hawing with no solution. No way it stays just in HRs hands. What if you travel to another office? Someone else has to "let the filth in the door after you show your gold star". They don't have HR manning or womanning every door

I thought about this for a long time. What happens when the Branch Covidians win out and your booster and 2nd booster and 3rd booster is required to be fully vaxxed by the new modified OSHA definition? By then they will have it electronic and you will be outted. I'm done. Time to put a public end to it.

Yeah, my response was to request to go fully remote, for the reason that I didn't intend to share any other medical data (weekly test results) for no reason, given that the company had already broken their commitment to discretion. (Half of my team is in various cities across the country where we used to have offices that have been closed, so it wouldn't be out of the norm for a person in my position to be remote.)

Waiting to hear back on that request.

We've had several 'anonymous' email polls to find out. I don't fully understand how it works, but my name was in the URL, so I don't expect it to be anonymous at all. First was back in May or so and I said "No". For the 2 subsequent polls, I didn't even reply.

In talking with my coworkers, we were chatting about this and one said if they mandate vaccines they're going to lose 60% of the workforce. I tend to believe him simply because when Harris County went Code Yellow, there has not been a single mention of return to office. Although we did return for 3 weeks before Delta got hot, 2 days in the office, no more than 2 people at a time in person (we have a very small group).

For us it all remains TBD, but we are functioning at a high level remotely. Hell, we all just received merit raises.

The OSHA rule isn't getting through...people who didn't want the first vaccine aren't going to want boosters. The only boosters going into arms after today are going into the arms of the Covidians themselves, and perhaps the olds and at-risks.

The OSHA rule isn't getting through...people who didn't want the first vaccine aren't going to want boosters. The only boosters going into arms after today are going into the arms of the Covidians themselves, and perhaps the olds and at-risks.


I'm thinking the same way and you are using good logic. But when this wounded animal Branch Covidian govt gets backed into a corner and proved wrong, no telling what they do next when they get desperate. I need to see more people openly stand up and say they have had enough.

Until they "mandate" it, I would ignore the request. Slow play it as long as you can because we are at least starting to see some pushback to this, finally. You might be able to wait it out.
