Why the icon?

Then you tried to get snarky with your "You do realize crap" So I answered in the same manor
Now you do realize the difference between 223 and 5.56 is pressure, not projectile dimension, and the pressures for .223 Remington have been standardized by SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer's Institute), so all commercially produced .223 in the USA will fall within those SAAMI specs. NATO ammo, on the other hand, is not pressure tested the same way as SAAMI ammo. It doesn't have a corresponding standard. Manufacturers load 5.56 NATO ammo to NATO specs. Generally speaking, 5.56 NATO rounds are loaded to a higher pressure than .223 Remington. Of course they make different projectile sizes and types like any other caliber. But this was testified to in open court on national TV under oath as being .223/5/56 NATO 55 gr FMJ she even specified the brand name I just can't remember off the top of my head
You have a good day

Actually the prosecutor was trying to claim reckless action because Kyle didn't use hollow points, implying the rounds he used could have hit multiple people with one shot where a hollow point would have stopped with the first person hit. Even the judge had to comment on this dumb premise.
On the angry poster, I don't think he was just trying to be precise. You don't get .223/5.56 you buy one or the other. Interestingly if you are lucky enough to get an AR in California the barrels are only rated for .223 and require a tool to eject an empty magazine.

Yep, the best way to get a question answered on the internet is to post the wrong information and let 50 people show up to correct you.Demosthenes81 said:
