I am not talking about Beto. I am wondering if a candidate selling himself as a JFK type-democrat could win today. Would the far left be willing to hold their noses, knowing an ultra liberal cannot win? Would the Independents and conservative/moderate democrats rally and carry the day for such a candidate?

No beacause JFK was more conservative than most Republicans today.

RINOs are way more liberal than JFK.

A Republican who actually was a JFK clone would win in a landslide. That candidate would be more conservative than damn near any Republican out there.
