Companies also have until Dec. 5 to offer paid time for employees to get vaccinated and paid sick leave for them to recover from any side effects.

OSHA, which polices workplace safety for the Labor Department, will provide sample implementation plans and fact sheets among other materials to help companies adopt the new rules.

OSHA will also conduct on-site workplace inspections to make sure companies comply with the rules, a senior administration official said. Penalties for noncompliance can range from $13,653 per serious violation to $136,532 if a company willfully violates the rules.

One of the stupider rules ever made by OSHA. Working age people aren't at high risk.

What's the scope of the mask requirement? 100% of the time while in the office? Many companies have mask requirements currently but only in common areas and meeting rooms. If this requires masks all day at desks, fun!!!

This isn't about health and safety it is about punishing non-compliance.

The unvaxxed must wear a mask to protect those who have been vaxxed.

i'm also curious what these "worplace inspections" will look like. Is it simply to make sure companies have a policy in place and some evidence that it is being used? Because i'm vaccinated but if an OSHA inspector walks into my workplace and asks me to see proof of vaccination or maybe even just asks my status, i'm inclined to ask him to kindly go *****himself. unless its in my employee medical file, OSHA has no right to my medical information as far as I understand.

We went permanently remote with the option to go in and work from a "hotel desk" if wanted. I wonder how that is going to affect us.

What chance? First, you have to know the vax status of your workers. If they choose not to say, then how are you in violation? Also, how will OSHA know who is vax'ed and who isn't?

So, unvaxxed have to do invasive weekly testing to make sure they don't have COVID and spread it, yet vaxxed can get and spread COVID as well but don't need invasive weekly testing? Makes sense. SCIENCE!

I've wondered the same thing, a lot of companies are doing this now. It'll be interesting to see if companies make the work from home unvaxed still comply. Since they are not technically on the work site I'm not sure how this is enforceable.

Not most...some. besides, there isn't anything in the OSHA rule that I have seen that compels businesses to give that information to OSHA. So, how do they enforce this?
