It's sad that we had to pass this to try to prohibit the governor from trampling the 1st amendment.

Im glad this one passed but am I looking at it right that every single amendment passed?

That is a little scary how easy it is to phrase something on a voting machine in a way to get people to vote for it.

Yes, they all passed.

I agree with you. I voted against a few

Voted for everything except tax exemptions. I always vote against tax exemptions.

My neighbor across the street from me is a lifelong California resident and moved here (North Dallas) this past summer with his wife and 5 kids. He said the hardest part was moving from a place he was born and raised to a new place they were unfamiliar and knew no one. Their decision was finally made to move after experiencing first hand how their kids were affected by the overreach government had in regards to Covid. One of the first things he said to me when we met was "don't worry, we're conservatives" (assume they were aware of the Cali migration to Texas fears). Over the past few months I've learned he wasn't super involved with politics in Cali, but went with the flow of this friends and neighbors. However, they were inadvertenly forced to start paying attention and form their own opinions once they noticed how negetively the politics were messing with their livelyhood.

My point is, don't necessarily assume those Cali residents coming the Texas is a negative thing. Many are here to escape the "too much govt" politics and have even more reason to keep Texas red.

Yes, I would bet that 98% of people voting never even read up on these amendments and what they actually meant.

I assume you intended "government(s)"....this was not an Abbot issue (granted he did not step up to issue an executive order prohibiting it on the local levels).

Amen. This alone is a great reason to support the abortion ban along with being against murdering babies

Didn't his order state that services not conducted remotely must comply with CDC guidelines? I'd say that is a limitation.

IMO that is a stretch on the word "limitation". This, IMO, was aimed at the local governments who prohibited attendance based upon their local ordinances.

No stretch at all. They required 6 ft social distancing, which basically shut down every inside meeting.

They will still move to Travis County where the majority voted no on the proposition.
