Pretty sure a guy from my church was in on this mission. Incredible bravery to not only voluntarily go into danger but to do it with no official help from your country and possible punishment when you get back.

This cracks me up, but for all the wrong reasons.

In 2007, my wife and I got married. We honeymooned for four days at the Pineapple Inn in Nantucket, Massachusetts. 'Pineapple' and 'Nantucket' were a disconnect for me, so I had to ask the manager the connection.

He told me the pineapple was a symbol of hospitality. OK, I get that. But back in the early 19th Century it meant more than that. When the whaling Captain came home, after 18 to 24 months at sea, he often brought a pineapple, and placed it on the window ledge. To let the locals, it let them know the Captain was home. But also, it was a signal to the men who 'frequented' the Captain's wife (while he was away), to keep your distance...as he was home. Don't know if this is fact or fiction, but it makes for an interesting story.
