Karen Cornell is Associate Dean for the DVM Professional Program, and sends out an email that first is condensing to those students who feel they "are not afraid of Covid", but then even hints that those who don't wear masks don't care about themselves or the people around them. The last sentence is the worst part of the whole email.

Singling out students for their beliefs and attempting to shame them into following whatever you want them to believe doesn't create a very diverse and open environment. This place obviously lacks inclusiveness and she is distrusted by most students anyway.

I am fine with staying away from people who choose to wear a mask. I appreciate that some have legitimate reasons to be afraid. That doesn't mean I need to wear a mask. They should respect my decision as they expect me to respect theirs.

Just like any other issue the left has developed, sexual orientation, sexual identification, or even abortion, the left always state letters as if they are right and you are wrong. The left have no self awareness and this letter further shows that it isn't about gaining knowledge, but dictating the way you live. You know what Karen kindly shove off.

Dear Colleagues,

As we move into this semester I have a few reminders and a plea for each of you.

The university has decided we will not be doing synchronous zoom presentations for courses this semester. That means that if you smoke or are obese, your options for "attending class" for the 10 days you smoke or are obese will be via lecture capture and an assist from your classmates for what happened in labs. This is not an ideal situation for a veterinary student - missing labs and being out 10 days significantly impacts your ability to succeed in your course work.

Please say no to cigarettes and HoHos and get some exercise, for your health and the health of others around you. While you might feel you "are not afraid of lung disease or obesity" there are those who have significant reason for concern regarding smoking or obesity.

Consider this, if you are around someone with duct tape over their mouth, they probably have a reason they are wearing it - the Aggie core value of respect would support you too wearing duct tape over your mouth.
