The problem was Ed Emmitt who people were sick of and didnt vote for, for many reason including his love affair with spending money on the Dome. Had he not been the name on the ballot Harris would have still been republican judge. What pushed her forward was the nonvotes as opposed to people voting for her.

Harris county is solid blue now. Cornyn lost by 8 points. Trump lost by 13 points. Abbott, who got a lot of democrat crossover, lost by 8 points.

Looking at your 2020 election results y'all definitely fared bettter and are more of a mixed bag than we are. We are almost 100% Democrat here in Dallas County. I did see that not a single Republican won their judgeship in Harris.

However, at least you still have Republicans running for judgeships there. We literally don't have Republicans run anymore here. It's all Democrats running unopposed for at least the last two elections.

Most of our judge positions we did not run a candidate which is mind boggling to me.

And now those same judges are releasing murders who get arrested and go out for round two. Kim Ogg our DA is way worse than Dora

When you see all Harris County judges losing by more than 10 percentage points, its not surprising that Republicans don't want to waste their time and money running for a race they have no chance to win.

Yes, and it's only going to get worse so get used to it. Go look at Dallas County last election. It's Democrat after Democrat running unopposed. We don't even try here anymore because it's pointless.

However, and shockingly, our mayor seems to be a reasonable dude but may be the only one. While he's not a conservative, he's not a complete moron either. He's constantly on his soapbox about safety and supporting the police and has managed to get our city council to reverse their defund the police initiatives adopted last year. We are now hiring 500 new cops instead of cutting 110.

Are there any examples of democrats losing or close to losing because they didn't run a campaign? Maybe it's because I'm only on Texags but I only hear about Republicans losing or close to losing for not running a campaign.
