They'll probably call it "wartime hazard pay" anytime someone with a red cap shows up near the Capitol and makes them crap their pants.

This actually makes sense. It costs a lot to have a pelosi like ice cream stash.

Pelosi is a career politician worth $800 million.

I'm sure she's worried about inflation as it pertains to her congressional salary.

Congressional STAFF can make $199,300..the US average pay for non-government workers was just under $52,000* last year, so b/c you work for congress people you need DOUBLE the American average.

Note - that is more than the Reps and Senators make unless they are in special positions of power (Speaker, Senate Pro-Tem, Majority Minority Leaders, etc) per a quick interwebs scan. I wonder what their pay increase is going to be - also, what will the retirement benefits and pay will be increased? This is not an attack on only Democrats - this is ridiculous from both sides of the aisle.

*My apologies, I did the quick scan read of the website vs going into the website, and was incorrect on what i typed in, apparently the $95,000 was for a specific state which was the highest in the country or something like that.

But there's almost no inflation.

Uh, no, not even remotely close to accurate, it' maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of that. Which is fine, and makes it all that much worse re: Pelosi.

a congressman's staff can make as much as an actual US Senator?

obviously there's a lot more to it than salary for modest public servants. ...Joe Biden made an avg of only around 100k/year his whole life and yet he owns four mansions. ...and he's obviously not corrupt or else the media would be questioning all of his family's lucrative foreign business deals and Joe's wealth on such a modest salary....

There's not enough money in the world to make one want to work for Sheila Jackson Lee.
